Compensation for chiropractic services in an evolving health care system is a more complicated issue than for other professionals. The lack of clear direction related to funding represents an opportunity to provide possible solutions.
The following paper explores five funding models, namely a fee-for-service model, a capitation model, a blended model, a mixed population model and a sessional model. Each model explores the financial impact of providing partial funding for chiropractic services and a summary of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MoHLTC) costs.
