Good pharmaceutical policy should enhance access to effective new medicines, improve patient outcomes and promote the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of an integrated healthcare system. The goal of this meeting is to develop consensus on priority areas and key components of a National Pharmaceutical Strategy that would ensure optimal pharmaceutical care for Canadians. Topics of discussion will include:
- The current landscape of pharmaceutical policy in Canada;
- The direction of the NPS and how that may affect patient health outcomes;
- Best practices and evidence based solutions to improve access to new medicines for Canadian patients.
